Being in the industry for 12+ years now, I can completely relate to what you wrote. There's no "4-hour workweek", at least not in the first 5-10 years. And as BTB says, it's not getting easier when you get older. So better do the grind now.
What about providing SEO services as an agency and scale it, vs the SEO job? Could you not leverage people's time to get to a decent business vs just being a grunt employee?
A quick question, what would it cost to buy 2nd party data do you think from affiliate sites - do you have any idea? Thinking of building an advertising and pricing intent data SaaS for a specific niche. Idea would be to aggregate data from top affiliates for the niche, combine with scraped background research and enhance with specific voice of customer surveys, conjoint analysis etc to provide a B2C Bomobora-type service
